If you’re experiencing bleeding or sensitivity around the gum line when you brush or floss your teeth you may have an early stage of gum disease that is easily treatable with scaling and root planing.
Scaling and root planing are two methods that we use to stop the progression of gum disease in its early stages and possibly reverse any damage to the teeth and gums that may have occurred. During the early stages of gum disease, gums may pull away from teeth and the teeth roots may have tartar on them. Scaling and root planing cleans the tooth and removes this tartar. With proper brushing and flossing, the gum disease will stop progressing and the gums will heal.
