Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers can improve your smile by masking severely stained or discolored teeth, restoring chipped or broken teeth, filling gaps between teeth, and correcting misaligned, misshapen or uneven teeth. Porcelain veneers are extremely durable, highly resistant to staining, and have the light reflecting abilities of natural teeth so they are very normal looking.

The porcelain veneer procedure usually requires two to three visits to our office to complete. Teeth that are to be covered with porcelain veneers must be prepared before the veneer can be applied. To prepare the teeth, a small portion of enamel is removed so the thickness added by the veneer does not add to the thickness of your natural teeth. We will then take an impression of your teeth that will be used when creating your veneers. It takes a week or two to create your veneers. During this time, we can use temporary veneers so your smile is natural looking during this time.

Your permanent dental veneers are shaped to blend into the natural alignment of your existing teeth and the shade can be adjusted by changing the color of the bonding material used. When the procedure is complete, you will have natural looking teeth that are strong, durable, and will last for years.

The decision to use porcelain veneers to improve your smile should not be made lightly, as the procedure is irreversible. We will engage in a thorough consultation with you that includes an examination of your teeth as well as a discussion of your desires and expectations to ensure that the porcelain veneer procedure is right for you.
